The uprisings of the Second World War are shown in the context of the events taking place in Europe during that time. The uprisings were a response to the Germans’ brutality; they were also important military operations against the German aggressor. The Warsaw Uprising was the largest battle of any resistance movement in Europe. In Paris, the German occupiers killed 70 thousand residents. At the end of the war, the freedom fighters in Prague, Czech Republic, cut off the German forces’ retreat to the American sector.
