The main protagonists of this film are two Polish teachers and a priest, who got deported deep into the USSR in 1940. Their paths crossed in remote Kazakhstan. Under extremely harsh conditions, they managed to organise education for 65 Polish children, protecting them from losing their national identity, religion and culture. They kept their dignity in the face of adversity. They died in the gulags.
