The film tells the story of the Ulma family, who sacrificed their lives saving Jewish families. A murder committed by the Germans in 1944 is the starting point for the director, who uncovers shocking facts. Through previously unpublished footage and interviews, he discovers that the perpetrators went unpunished and that the gendarme responsible for the Ulmas’ execution was respected for years.
