The first NNW International Film Market in Gdynia is already behind us. After three days of meetings among guests from many countries, after many debates and one-on-one conversations, everyone leaves satisfied. We hosted over 100 Market participants in Gdynia, who will have reasons to return to us.
Our Market has become a necessary complement to the festival with 15 years of tradition and reputation. It also turned out to be a well-used opportunity for many film professionals.
We analyzed the films shown at the festival, their making of methods, and what results they brought. We looked at the situation in the TV and Internet broadcasting market and the cooperation of producers with distributors and international sales agents. We brought together partners for co-production and helped find access to archives.
We devoted the entire Friday to animation, gathering essential representatives of the environment and discussing its needs and current possibilities of making children’s films and series. We discussed the technological challenges in the world of cinema.
We inspired some filmmakers by showing the working methods of others. Our masterclasses remained in the participants’ memories.
Together with our partner – the Polish Film Institute – we presented Poland’s film production financing system to foreign guests, particularly emphasizing the Cash Rebate.
Throughout all days of the Festival and Market, we reported our meetings and presentations on the Film Market for you and reviewed feature productions from the competition, along with the selected documentaries.
Our team’s work on this event was possible thanks to the strategic decision of the director of the NNW International Film Festival, Arkadiusz Gołębiewski, to open the entire great event, which is the current festival, also at the Market. Perhaps this is another small step for a festival that has already reached its scale. Still, it will undoubtedly be a big step for the community of film professionals in Poland, open to cooperation with people who think similarly, although they live in other countries.
