Polish Documentary Competition

The Polish Documentary Competition has existed since the first edition of the NNW Festival. As in previous years, the creators of Polish documentaries will compete for the Golden Resistor, an award given for the best film in the competition, and the Janusz Krupski Award, granted for courage and effort in searching for unruly, unbreakable, and “cursed” topics and characters. Documentaries of Polish production, made between 2023 and 2025, with a screening time of up to 90 minutes, about Polish modern history, its heroes and Polish roads to freedom are eligible for this competition.

Terms and Conditions

Applying for participation in the Festival means accepting the aforementioned TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

Failing to comply with the Terms and Conditions will exclude the film from selection.

TO SUBMIT YOUR FILM FOR THE COMPETITION YOU ARE REQUIRED TO:

ATTENTION!

You are required to provide:
1. an unlisted online link to the film on Vimeo, Youtube or any other online streaming platform (no password protection required). ATTENTION: Links requiring downloading files will NOT be accepted (i.e. WeTransfer, MyAirBridge). Links also cannot be time or region restricted. Passwords for the links cannot be altered during the Festival selection.
2. an unlisted online link to the film trailer (no password protection required),
3. one still images from the film (in .jpg format, at least 1920×1080 resolution, maximum size 5 MB)

One film can only be submitted for one Competition.

The application form contains mandatory fields that must be filled out (*) and optional fields that may be left blank.
If you try to submit a form with incorrectly filled out or empty required fields, these fields will be indicated.

Confirmation of sending the application will be sent to the e-mail address of the Applicant provided in the form.

CONSENTS

In case of receiving information about the film’s selection for any of the 17th NNW International Film Festival competitions I hereby commit myself to provide the Organizer with:
• A projection copy of the film in two formats: DCP and MP4 Full HD (1080p).
I have read the Terms of Recruitment for the competition selection of the 17th NNW International Film Festival and I accept all its provisions.
I hereby give consent for free screenings of the submitted film, during the special post-Festival events that are the part of Festival’s promotional enterprises, including the NNW Film Festival Retrospectives, if the film qualifies for the Festival screenings.
I agree for my data included in this form to be processed by Stowarzyszenie Scena Kultury with an address of ul. Bieżanowska 2/14, 02-655 Warszawa, for the purposes of a registered film participation in any of 17th NNW International Film Festival competitions. This includes the film selection process, Festival’s communication and Stowarzyszenie Scena Kultury statutory activity.
I hereby declare that I am a person/entity authorised to fill out the personal data in the application form for the film for the 17th NNW International Film Festival and the persons whose data I am providing regarding the application for the film for the 17th NNW International Film Festival agreed to processing of their personal data for the purpose the film participation in the 17th NNW International Film Festival. This includes the film selection process, Festival’s communication and Stowarzyszenie Scena Kultury statutory activity.
