International Documentary Film Competition

Documentary creators from the entire world will compete for the Witold Pilecki Award and the Special Award of the Platform of European Memory and Conscience. Documentaries, foreign and domestic, realised between 2018-2023, no longer than 90 minutes, describing historical events can qualify for the competition.

Submitting a film for participation in the Festival is synonymous with accepting the hereby Terms.
In a case of not following the terms the film will not be admitted for selection.

IN ORDER TO APPLY THE FEATURE FILM FOR THE FESTIVAL SECTION IT IS NECESSARY TO:

• Complete the online application form available below and click “Send”
• Deliver a file/copy of the film online (link to download the file for the organizers OR a link to a streaming platform). Link cannot be time-limited or territory-limited. During the selection the passwords cannot be changed.

Copies of the films submitted for the competition, both for screening and review, must include Polish or English subtitles (does not include films which are originally in Polish or English).
• Send the selection materials listed below to the following e-mail address: konkurs@festiwalnnw.pl: movie trailer, three photo stills from the movie, photo of the film’s author.

PROJECTION COPIES

The applicant submitting a film qualified for the competition will be required to provide:
• a projection copy in two formats: DCP and MP4 Full HD (1080p)
• a dialogue list in SRT format, in English or Polish if the film is in a language other than Polish or English

ATTENTION!

• One film may be submitted to only one competition.
• The registration form includes obligatory places which must be filled in (*) and non-obligatory places which may stay empty. During an attempt to send the form with wrongly completed boxes or empty boxes these places will be indicated. In such case please provide the correct data and click ,,Send” again.
• After sending the form a confirmation will be sent to the APPLICANT’s email which was included in the form.
• In the mail correspondence please include the title of the piece and the contest cathegory in which it was registered e.g. Unknown History – International Documentary Film Competition

THE FINAL APPLICATION TERM IS THE 10TH OF JUNE 2023.

CONSENTS

I hereby commit myself to provide the Organizer with:
1. A preview copy of the film with English subtitles (does not apply to films w ith original English audio)
2. Selection materials required by the Regulations to the following address: konkurs@festiwalnnw.pl
• trailer of the film
• three still images from the film (in .jpg format, at least 1920x1080 resolution)
In case of receiving information about the film’s selection for any of the 16th NNW International Film Festival competitions I hereby commit myself to provide the Organizer with:
1. A projection copy of the film in two formats: DCP and MP4 Full HD (1080p)
2. A Polish and English dialogue list in SRT format
I have read the Terms of Recruitment for the competition selection of the 16th NNW International Film Festival and I accept all its provisions.
I hereby give consent for free screenings of the submitted film, during the special post-Festival events that are the part of Festival’s promotional enterprises, including the NNW Film Festival Retrospectives, if the film qualifies for the Festival screenings.
I agree for my data included in this form to be processed by Stowarzyszenie Scena Kultury with an address of ul. Bieżanowska 2/14, 02-655 Warszawa, for the purposes of a registered film/radio broadcast participation in any of 16th NNW International Film Festival competitions. This includes the film selection process, Festival’s communication and Stowarzyszenie Scena Kultury statutory activity.
I hereby declare that I am a person/entity authorised to fill out the personal data in the application form for the film for the 16th NNW International Film Festival and the persons whose data I am providing regarding the application for the film for the 16th NNW International Film Festival agreed to processing of their personal data for the purpose the film participation in the 16th NNW International Film Festival. This includes the film selection process, Festival’s communication and Stowarzyszenie Scena Kultury statutory activity.
